THE challenge with Brexit is that the decision was made mostly on emotional grounds and the results are mostly practical and it will take some time to understand them completely.
We live in an ever more interconnected world where the consequences of actions are almost impossible to predict.
I think most people’s vote to leave was based on some underlying assumptions on what the likely implications would be.The most obvious is that there would not be any catastrophic alteration to their way of life and economic circumstances.
If there were, then most sane people would want to weigh up these consequences and review whether their decision was with hindsight the best one for themselves and the country.
It must then make sense to leave the door open for as long as possible as to whether our decision is for perpetuity.
