SIMON Robinson was on target as Middlewich Town Reserves lost at Rylands/Crosfields Reserves on Saturday.

His was the only goal for the visitors in a 3-1 reverse.

It leaves them eighth in the standings after 16 matches with 22 points to their name.

They trail Linotype above them by six points.

“Ours is a young team that is learning all the time and they were unlucky to lose by such a margin,” said spokesman Marvin Hall.

“They’ll keep getting better as the season progresses.”

Middlewich entertain the second string of reigning Cheshire League champions, Styal, at Seddon Street this weekend, kick off 2.15pm.
