TERRY Murphy has told Town be tough ahead of Saturday’s trip to Gamesley.

The Middlewich manager warned the time for pretty football would not be against one of their less favoured opponents.

“We don’t like going there,” he said.

“It will be a hard, physical battle and we have to be ready for that.

“An early goal would help as they tend to go a bit if you take the lead against them.”

The Witches will be bolstered by the return of Shaun Came to their back line, while Matt Conkie is back between the posts after serving a seven-day suspension held over from last season.

Steve Capper, also banned, will not feature again until the end of the month.

Ryan Broadhead faces a race to be fit after pulling a muscle in his stomach, but Adam Morris has trained and could come into the reckoning.

Town’s scheduled top-of-the-table clash with Rylands/Crosfields was postponed on Saturday after heavy overnight rain left the Seddon Street surface under water.

“I was a bit gutted to be honest,” admitted Murphy.

“I was really looking forward to the game as it would have been a good early test for us and perhaps a chance to get one over on one of our rivals.

“There was a referee down there early on and he called it off which is fair enough.”

Middlewich could go top if results go their way on Saturday, when Murphy expects them to return with three points from a team who have lost only one of their first five matches.

“If we play the way I know we can we should be ok,” he added.

“We should go there feeling confident.”

Kick off is 3pm.
