WINNINGTON Park ended a near four-months wait for a league win in impressive fashion to ease their relegation worries.
They last savoured a success in October – a run of seven matches.
“The forwards looked hungry,” said captain Simon Platt.
“Shutting Crewe out when you consider how many chances they had throughout the game was impressive.”
Haddock, Will Broderick and Danny Bevan put in superb try-saving hits to keep Park’s sheet clean, while they ran in four scores of their own at the other end.
Three touch downs came from the backs - Craig Lamb, Chris Jolley and Mark Phoenix – while forward Mike Kirkman notched the other from Platt’s clever set-up.
