CHESHIRE Stars S are still waiting to celebrate a first win of the new season but a battling performance in their latest outing was encouraging.
The Middlewich-based side went down 41-22 against Vipers in the Everybody Netball League's Premier Division and captain Danielle Oultram was chosen as their best performer.
Stars T pushed their opponents, N20, hard in the same section before falling to a narrow 30-24 defeat.
Dekeisha Entwisle was rewarded for her impressive work in defence with a player of the match nomination.
Meanwhile a winning sequence for in-form Stars A in the Championship Division stopped at five matches after they were beaten by Sandbach Roses.
A 28-17 reverse still earned for them a bonus point on a night when Megan Huxley marked her return to the court with a fine individual performance.
Stars R share the lead with Ladyhawks L in Division One after recording a fifth successive victory, this time by 41-32 against Sandstormers.
Karen Dickson was their stand-out player as they continued a strong start.
