President, Bernadette O’Donnell welcomed everyone to this month’s meeting.
Matter Arising
Preparations were well under way for the 70th Birthday Celebrations to be held on the October 21, at Winnington Rec. 7 – 7.30pm
Names were taken for the Cathedral Celebration Service at Chester on November 18.
Comberbach WI were organising a trip to Boundary Mill on Thursday, November 19. £10
Christmas at White Friars this year would be on December 2 & 3. Tickets £3
The Speaker for the evening was introduced. Mary Houseman gave the members a very informative talk and demonstration on the History of Spinning & Weaving. She had worked for many years at Quarry Bank Mill and told members how life would have been for the spinners and weavers before spinning wheels and looms had existed.
She was thanked by Margaret Jones
