President, Joy Hoad welcomed members to the AGM of Lach Dennis WI. She reported on the activities and speakers that had been enjoyed throughout the year. They included a visit by the Mid-Cheshire Musical Theatre Company; a talk by the first mounted policewoman in Manchester. Rebecca Little talked about life on the stage and how she built her Little Pixie Productions company; Gordon and Angela Atkinson brought news of their charity, The Mango Tree. Cynthia Mills, accompanied by her dog, spoke about her work for the charity, Pets and Therapy. Members had also been able to taste the products of Wiltshire Farm Foods.
The President and Committee were re-elected on declaring themselves willing to serve for a further year. After the business of the evening was concluded, members enjoyed refreshments provided by the committee and poetry readings by Joy Hoad and Jackie Walker. The raffle was won by Glenys Bowers.
The next meeting will be a Christmas party at Lach Dennis Village Hall on Monday, December 8, starting earlier than usual, at 7pm.
