A MIDDLEWICH mum is celebrating after her life long dream to publish a book now stands proud on her bookshelf.
Catherine Green, 29, has spent two years working on her debut novel ‘Love Hurts’ - a paranormal romance set in the Cornish seaside resort of Looe.
The book is born out of a ten year passion for writing and is inspired by her second love for werewolves, vampires and ghosts.
“I’ve always had a fascination for the supernatural,” said Catherine, who is also practicing to become a medium.
“The story itself is inspired by ghost stories I heard as a child.
“I thought up the characters when I was 17. The heroine is a human woman who runs a bookshop. She meets a man in a pub who she later finds out is a vampire.”
In between working full-time as an administrator at Manchester Airport, writing for an online magazine, and pursuing a handful of hobbies, which include crafts and ghost hunting, Catherine wrote her novel during the evenings and at weekends.
Now, a full-time mum to her six-month-old daughter Elliot, she’s looking forward to getting started on the sequel.
“I’m hoping it is going to be the first in a series,” added Catherine, of Dane Street.
“However, I am just really proud that I have been able to put my book on the shelf next to all my favourite authors.”
Love Hurts, published by Mirador, is now available to buy online.
