FREE bus travel for the older and disabled residents of Middlewich will not be cancelled.
Fiona Bruce, the MP for Middlewich, has assured residents of her constituency that bus travel for those who need it most will remain free.
This comes after many residents of the area voiced concerns that the new Government was planning on withdrawing free bus travel for the elderly and disabled, in an attempt to cut costs.
However, Mrs. Bruce, fought for her constituency when she was assured by Norman Baker, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Transport, that no such cuts would be made.
She said: “The least we can do to show our respect and gratitude to older people is to help them in this way by giving them free bus travel.”
“I am delighted to have gained this assurance.”
