A MAN was robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight in Winsford last week.

The victim was walking along the cinder path which runs between Greenfields Primary School and Finsbury Walk when he was confronted by a man brandishing a knife.

The attacker threatened him with the weapon and demanded he hand over all his cash. Fearing for his safety the victim handed his money over before the man ran off on foot in the direction of St John’s Church.

The attack happened at around 10.50am on Wednesday, January 20 and police are eager to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything.

Detectives have released an efit based on the description given by the victim – who fortunately escaped uninjured.

He is described as a white male, aged between 25 and 30 years old, 6ft in height, and of skinny build. He is said to have drawn cheekbones and was clean-shaven, with discoloured chipped lower teeth. He was dressed in a black hooded top pulled up tight around his face, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Anyone with any information in relation to this incident should contact DC Jude Edwards at Northwich CID on 0845 458 0000.
