A MAN serving 10 months in prison for a violent rampage at his grandmother's home has been handed a further eight weeks' jail time.

David Wade, of Britannia Road, Cuddington, appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on June 21, where he pleaded guilty to three charges.

The court heard the 32-year-old attacked a man in Frodsham on February 25 earlier this year before also obstructing a police officer in the execution of his duty.

Wade was also found to be in possession of cocaine.

These offences took place while Wade had a suspended sentence hanging over him for an incident on November 1, 2021, in Runcorn, where armed police had to restrain him after he threatened neighbours with two knives and telling family members he would ‘gut them like fish’.

This suspended sentence was activated at Chester Crown Court on May 30 this year after Wade returned to the scene of the crime, in breach of a court order.

Now magistrates in Crewe have added a further eight weeks to his sentence after the February 25 offences came before the court.

The bench also ordered Wade to pay £100 in compensation to his victim and that the cocaine seized on his arrest be forfeited and destroyed.

The court heard only a custodial sentence could be justified for these offences due to the unprovoked and serious nature of the attack and Wade's previous convictions.
