THE winners of the 2018 'Your Heritage' Photographic Competition have been announced.

This year saw a record number of entrants as 111 photographs were sent in to the Heritage Society.

Kerry Kirwan, heritage development officer, said: “As always it is difficult to narrow down the pictures to select just twelve for the calendar, the creativity was high showing the wealth of talented photographers we have in Cheshire.

“As always our judges were impressed with the quality and the final selection was close.”

The winners were:

• Winter Canal by Aneta Talbot

• Pekin Robin by Ray Hill

• Boy Racer by Kath Hill

• Golden Light by Ryan Mottram

• Little Moreton Ball by Aneta Talbot

• Punch and Judy by Aneta Talbot

• Lavender Mansion by Aneta Talbot

• Ready for the Rut by Ray Hill

• Birds at Sunset by Rebecca Styles

• Reg by Kath Hill

• Christmas Mexon Market by Alastair Griffiths

The winners will all receive a £10 voucher of their choice and the overall winner was ‘Ready for the Rut’ by Ray Hill who also took home the competition trophy and top prize of £50.

The calendar will now be designed and sent to the printers ready for sale around October time.

Any profits from the sale of the calendar will go to the Middlewich Heritage Trust, a charitable company working to preserve and promote the heritage of Middlewich, including buildings, artefacts and archives, as a resource for the benefit of the residents, schools and of the wider public.

The competition was sponsored by Jugglers Management Accounting Services Ltd and Middlewich Town Council.
