PETER Hook - formerly of Joy Division and New Order – will headline this year’s Middlewich FAB Festival, it has been announced.

Peter Hook & The Light, will headline the much-anticipated Friday night concert on June 15 – a slot previously held by acts such as The South, Bob Geldof and Seth Lakeman.

Peter Hook, a founding member of Joy Division and New Order, has had an abundance of celebrated success with many hits including ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’, ‘Blue Monday’- the biggest selling 12 inch of all time, and ‘True Faith’ from the platinum album ‘Substance’.

Peter Hook & The Light have toured Joy Division and New Order's albums extensively since debuting "Unknown Pleasures" back in 2010 with dates all across the world.

Cllr Samantha Moss, Middlewich Mayor, said: “Middlewich Town Council strives to make Middlewich FAB Festival a fun, enjoyable, family experience for everyone to partake in.

“I am very proud that ‘Peter Hook & The Light’ is the headline act for Friday night’s concert this year, especially as he is a Cheshire resident.

“It’s a great way to celebrate our regional music talent. Everyone is very excited that we will host such fantastic musician who has been hugely influential in music for over four decades and continues to inspire young musicians today.

“This is sure to help draw even bigger crowds from outside our area to boost Middlewich’s economy during FAB festival.”

Early bird tickets are now on sale at fabfestival.co.uk for the concert on the Friday night.

The Early Bird ticket is only available until Midnight April 3. Early Bird ticket prices are as follows; Adults tickets are £19.50 per person, under 16s are £13 per person and family tickets (two adults and up to three children under 16 years) are £57.50. All ticket prices are inclusive of a booking fee. Full details with terms and conditions can be found on the website.

FAB Festival will continue to have free admission on the Saturday and Sunday.
