PLANS have been approved to build eight one-bedroom apartments in Greenbank.
Permission has been granted to South Cheshire Housing Society, a not for profit social landlord, to build the dwellings with private green space and car parking on land behind Lilac Drive.
The housebuilder already owns 107 one and two bedroom flats in the area and says that the affordable homes are in ‘constant demand.’
A supporting statement said: “We believe this scheme shows a sympathetic yet modern architectural intervention into the area.
“It will provide a development which is socially sustainable.
“This development will also be a huge step towards reducing the housing shortage in this area by supplying desirable, high quality housing tailored to the needs of the local community.
“We believe our proposals will make a positive contribution to the area, providing high quality living accommodation in a sustainable location with a well-designed public realm and landscaped environment.”
The development has to begin within the next three years from the date of permission and no constructions will commence until samples of the materials to be used in have been submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council.
