NINETY-NINE young Knutsfordians were checked for underlying heart conditions as the town’s first responders hosted their third screening day on Saturday.
The Knutsford Community First Responders Trust (KCFRT) once again welcomed the heart charity Cardiac Risk in the Young to Knutsford Methodist Church, where those aged between 14 and 35 could book a free heart test to help identify any potential issues.
Saturday’s event was the third organised by the trust in the past 12 months, and the second of 2017.
Each CRY event costs the trust £5,000 to put on, with all money fundraised and generously donated.
Adrian Rees, the trust’s Heartstart coordinator, said: “Knutsford First Responders had a great day on Saturday providing free heart screening for the young people of Knutsford.
“We screened a total of 99 people, only one short of our target of 100 despite 10 no shows. Five people have been referred on for further investigation.
“Thanks to our fabulous volunteers for running the day and amassing over £400 in donations. Well done KCFRT team!”
