BYLEY Primary School continues to be ‘good’ following a short Ofsted inspection.

The education watchdog visited the school on July 11 and found that the leadership team had maintained ‘the good quality of education’ since its last inspection in 2013.

Byley’s safeguarding arrangement was also found fit for purpose.

Ofsted inspector Ahmed Marikar wrote in the report: “The school’s motto, ‘growing together and branching out’, underpins the work of the school.

“Your enthusiastic leadership has ensured that pupils are nurtured and well cared for and pupils across the school make good progress in learning.

“The school is a family-orientated and happy community, which has grown in size.

“Leaders have created an environment in which pupils feel very safe.”

The overwhelming majority of parents who responded to an online questionnaire felt that are safe, well behaved and well cared for.

The report said that the next steps for the school should be to ensure that standards in writing and mathematics continue to improve.
