MAGGIE Finns’ has expanded to include a tea garden.

The catering business has bought and renovated a tea garden in Canal Terrace as an expansion of its main tea room in Wheelock Street.

The new shop opened on Monday, July 10 and offers a different menu to the one available in Middlewich town centre.

The menu offers a selection of pastries, cakes, sandwiches and small savoury selections.

John Finn, owner of Maggie Finns’, said: “We couldn’t officially announce it as we had to wait for the hand over but we’ve been working on this for a few months.

“The person who has got me involved in the project had been in the tea room a few times and commented on how much he loved the brand and the way we do things.

“This is a completely different experience for our customers. We are in such a beautiful location and it was hard for me to turn down the opportunity when it arose.

“I haven’t been looking to expand but the location and design of the space is wonderful and I believe people are really going to enjoy what we have to offer.

“We’re offering something different to Middlewich and I hope people get on board.”

Maggie Finns’ sandwich shop in Winsford closed indefinitely on Sunday, July 2. The shop is still open for buffets and catering.

John added: “I’m keen to stress that we have not closed the entire Winsford shop as some have suggested.

“We have closed the sandwich shop as we have moved some of our operations to Middlewich. With the added tea garden it is simply a movement of the retail side of the business.”
