THE popular Bunny Hop event returns to Knutsford this weekend, with the treasure hunt event set to bring families into the centre of town.

Introduced by the retail community following the success of the Pumpkin Path, the annual Easter Saturday event will see families search for bunnies hidden around the town centre.

Children will be able to complete their Bunny Hop postcards with the name of each bunny they find, posting the completed card into a designated postbox outside Knutsford Heritage Centre in King Street.

The submitted postcards then go into a draw, with a chance to win prizes from businesses. Three winners will be contacted next week.

Julia Chard, owner of Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe in King Street, said: “We are once again delighted to be organising and sponsoring this great event in our town.

“Special thanks to all the local primary schools who sent the postcards home in children’s reading bags.

“Postcards can also be picked up on the day from participating businesses. Bring on the bunnies!”

While hunting the bunnies, participants will be on the lookout for Bunny Hop-friendly posters in shop windows.

Wherever they see a poster, they will be able to find an Easter treat inside, with more than 20 retailers offering various treats, offers and deals on the day.

From chocolate to face-painting and free nail-painting for those under eight years old, the day has become a staple family day out in the community events calendar alongside the Pumpkin Path at Halloween.

King Street will remain open to traffic, with parents reminded that children must be supervised at all times during the day.

The event takes place this Saturday, April 15, between 10am and 4pm.
