MIDDLEWICH Clean Team members conducted their annual visit of the town’s nurseries and playgroups on Monday.

Volunteers Hilary Jones and Janet Chisholm went to Middlewich Communty Pre-School, Peter Pan Pre-School, Rainbow Day Nursery, Early Learners Nursery and Tommy Thumbs Pre–School to teach about keeping the town tidy.

The children had a go with the junior crocodile litter pickers, and sang a song about putting rubbish in the bin to the tune of ‘Frere Jacques’.

Each child was awarded a Middlewich Clean Team sticker.

Hilary said: “The idea is to teach the children that litter belongs in the bin and not on the ground.”

The Middlewich Clean Team meets for regular litter picks, and has a strong team of volunteers.

It also recently launched a business partnership scheme in order to keep the town centre free of litter.

The next group litter pick takes place on Saturday, February 18.
