THE number 42 bus service, which connects Middlewich to places such as Leighton Hospital and Holmes Chapel, is operating today after a substitute service provider was drafted in.
D&G Bus will take charge of the 42 service, which runs between Congleton and Crewe in both directions.
The route had been affected yesterday when the previous operators, GHA Coaches, entered administration on Wednesday evening.
GHA Coaches' entire workforce of 320 were made redundant, with 230 services affected across England and Wales.
A Cheshire East Council spokesperson said on Thursday: "We are currently working with operators to provide cover bus services across Cheshire East to replace services formerly operated by GHA Coaches.
"We are pleased to announce that some services will be running from Friday morning. It is possible, however, that some journeys may be missed.
"We will continue to work on the other routes to ensure as much of the bus network as possible is running."
