MIDDLEWICH MP Fiona Bruce took time out recently to visit Middlewich Primary School, after being invited by a pupil.

Fiona spent a morning giving assemblies and answering questions at the Park Road school, even inspiring some to look into a career in politics.

The visit was on the morning of the school’s garden party in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday, although the busy MP could not stick around for the festivities.

Sophie Eaton, who teaches at the school and helped organise the visit, said: “The children were really engaged with everything Fiona had to say.

“Rebecca Davies invited her to come, and she did an assembly to the whole school about her role as an MP and the basics of Parliament.

“She then did a question and answer session with the older students. They are an inquisitive lot, and Fiona was brilliant with them.”

After Fiona’s visit, students followed up the session by learning about the basics of law making.
