Middlewich town crier Devlin Hobson hosted the British Championships last year
MIDDLEWICH'S town crier has been crowned People's Champion at a national competition in Halifax.
Devlin Hobson, installed as the voice of Middlewich in 2014, also finished third in the judged competition featuring 11 town criers from across England.
The event was one of many Devlin is competing this year, having hosted the British Town Crier Championships in Middlewich last September.
He will resume hosting duties in July, when Middlewich's inaugural town crier competition takes place at the White Bear.
