ST MICHAEL and All Angels Church in Middlewich is asking members of the public to join them for week of prayer.

The National Week of Prayer will see churches up and down the country take part in the event, between Sunday, May 8, and Sunday, May 15.

The National Prayer Week has been announced by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, who encouraged the Church of England to take part.

Local parishes are free to take part in whatever way they feel are appropriate. St Michael’s Church in Middlewich will be opening the church and inviting the community to come and join them.

Rev Simon Drew, St Michael’s Church rector, said: “In response to the Archbishops encouragement to focus on The Lord’s Prayer we will be setting up interactive prayer stations which people can use to focus their thoughts and prayers.

“We would like to invite anyone from the community of Middlewich to come, and spend just a few minutes praying for our nation at this time of uncertainty.”

St Michael’s Church prayer stations will be open from 10.30am to 1pm between Tuesday, May 10 and Saturday, May 14, and from 7pm to 9pm between Monday, May 9, and Thursday, May 12.
