CCTV cameras will be patrolling and monitoring Middlewich again thanks to funding from the town council.
In 2013, Cheshire East Council announced that it would be asking parish and town councils to fund CCTV cameras themselves in towns in the borough as a method of saving money.
Since then, any cameras that have broken have been removed and not replaced, leaving some locations without any CCTV coverage.
Last Monday, Middlewich Town Council agreed to fund the CCTV cameras between now and the end of the financial year.
A spokesperson said: "This issue will be reviewed again at the beginning of April when a decision will be made as to whether the funding will continue."
PCSO Dave Jinks, who has been concerned about the CCTV coverage since the original decision by Cheshire East Council to withdraw funding, said: "If the next decision is to stop the funding then people's lives could be at risk.
"Since the CCTV cameras were turned back, they have provided a good line for enquiries for the Cheshire Constabulary and they have helped in bringing people to justice."
