CHESHIRE East Council has released further details on the three roads in Middlewich which will be closed for resurfacing.

Rutland Drive, Rushton Drive and St Ann’s Road will all be resurfaced and an original public notice by the council stated that the three roads would be closed from August 10 until November 4.

However, further clarification from Cheshire East Council has revealed that each road will be closed for a short period in September.

Rutland Drive will be treated over two on September 16 and 17. St Ann’s Road will be treated between September 18 and 22. Rushton Drive will be treated on September 16.

In Rutland Drive and St. Ann’s Road, the highways team will be applying a micro asphalt treatment, making it watertight and preventing further deterioration.

Rushton Drive will be closed between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm only so that essential improvements can be carried out in the form of patching work.

A spokesman for Cheshire East Council said: “Cheshire East Highways is improving a number of roads in Middlewich with plans in place to keep disruption to the absolute minimum.

“Letters will be sent to all residents likely to be affected by the improvement works and information will also be posted on roadside notices.”

Cheshire East Highways will maintain emergency access and on-site personnel will advise residents in the event that access is required for special circumstances.
