MIDDLEWICH Police Team are setting a priority of ensuring pubs and off-licenses are not selling alcohol to children.
Middlewich Police is following a county-wide clamp-down known as Operation Paddleboat on under age sales which will continue until the end of June.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “The impact of excessive alcohol, especially when consumed by youngsters, can have a detrimental effect on the individual, the community, and put extra strain on the resources of the emergency services.
“We work closely with Trading Standards and co-ordinate the pubwatch scheme to ensure that under age sales are identified with and dealt with robustly.”
