MIDDLEWICH firm Bare Bones Marketing has joined the Government’s Think, Act, Report initiative to promote gender equality at work.

The Think, Act, Report initiative was introduced in September 2011, and now more than 2.2million employees now work for businesses that promote gender equality at work.

The initiative encourages companies to think about gender equality, take action to promote opportunities in their workplaces, and report on what they are doing.

Emma Dalzell, founder of Bare Bones Marketing, said: “Having been used as an example of how important women entrepreneurs are to the economy last year, it’s a real honour to have been offered to sign up to the Government’s Think, Act, Report in the Women’s Business Council Report.

“Having worked in male dominated industries at a senior level, often for unequal pay, I want to ensure that Bare Bones Marketing offers not just workplace equality, but flexibility and opportunity and I'm fully supportive of the initiative”.

Think, Act, Report empowers companies to be open about how many women they employ, and about what jobs they do, to break down the culture of secrecy around promotions and pay that allows discrimination and inequality to persist.

The initiative is voluntary and flexible and is supported by companies such as Tesco, Bupa, HSBC, Shell and Vodafone.

Jo Swinson, Minister for Women and Equalities, said: “The Government’s voluntary initiative Think, Act, Report is going from strength to strength, and I am delighted to welcome Bare Bones Marketing as our latest signatory.
