A MIDDLEWICH businesswoman continued her efforts in supporting the importance of women in business by attending the Women’s Business Council in London.

Emma Dalzell, who is the founder of Middlewich company Bare Bones Marketing, attended the event on Tuesday, June 3, at the Mansion House in London, which looked at different ways in which women can overcome challenges such as receiving lower pay in the corporate world.

Emma, along with Northwich businesswoman, Sue France, was included in The Women’s Business Council report last year, as one of the examples of how important women entrepreneurs are to the economy and how, at various stages of their life, women can contribute to the economy.

Emma said: “Women are a real asset and essential to the growth of the economy especially in Cheshire.

“By investing in the future and building the confidence of both girls and young women, along with encouraging more women entrepreneurs, I really believe that we can boost our local economic potential.

“The event was very interesting, with some really interesting speeches in a fantastic setting.”

The event was attended by many successful women including Lord Mayor of London, Fiona Woolf and the new women’s minister, Nicky Morgan.

According to the Women’s Business Council, there are over 2.4 million of women not in work but want to work and over 1.3 million of some who want to increase their number of working hours.
