AN employee at Tesco superstore in Middlewich had his legs waxed in the store to raise money for charity.
Jamie Sloan, 21, from Middlewich, devised the idea to raise money for Tesco’s official charity Diabetes UK.
Janette Clutton, stock control manager at Tesco and Jamie’s team leader, said: “We encourage our staff to come up with ideas on how to raise money for Diabetes UK but Jamie’s idea was definitely different and went down really well.
“Our customers were all gathered around when he was getting it done to see how much pain he was in and donated in our collection bucket.”
Jamie raised more than £200 in total from customer donations.
Beauticians from Seraphim Beauty Salon, on Southway in Middlewich volunteered to help out in waxing Jamie’s legs.
Janette added: “It was great of the girls from Seraphim Beauty to support us make sure it wasn’t too painful for Jamie, but painful enough.”
