THE former deputy mayor of Winsford has appeared in court charged with defrauding the town’s current mayor, Clr Mike Kennedy.
Paul Jones, formerly of Esk Road, Wharton, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court this morning, Wednesday, March 5.
The 35-year-old faces two charges of fraud by false representation for building work carried out in Winsford.
One charge relates to £730 guttering work on a Winsford property occupied by Ms Margaret Kernick in January, 2013.
The other relates to £1,600 roofing work at the Winsford home of Clr Mike Kennedy between May 1 and August 18 2011.
The case against Paul Jones was adjourned until March 26. No plea has been entered and he was granted unconditional bail.
