GUEST speaker Robert MacGregor gave a talk on the magic of toys.
Robert entertained the group with a variety of magic tricks as he talked of his journey through childhood toys and games and how his interest in magic tricks had been nurtured.
Many childhood comics of yesteryear such as the Wizard, Adventure, Rover and the Hotspur had regular features on simple magic tricks.
He had paid 2/6d to join the Boy Musicians' club at Prestatyn who supplied lists of tricks, books to borrow from the library and a magazine called Trixy.
He talked about toys and games from those found in Egyptian tombs or buried in Pompeii to the Victorians love of board games and of some of the modern day games.
