VAL Lithgow was the speaker with her topic, Forever Angels – a baby home in Tanzania run by her daughter Amy and son-in-law Ben, together with many sympathetic supporters.

The baby home provides interim care to motherless and abandoned infants.

Carers and domestic staff are recruited and trained from the local community. Ideally babies return to their family when circumstances permit, are adopted by loving parents or move on to a selected orphanage for older children.

The children and families continue to receive support.

Teams will be entering the group darts competition and the county quiz.

The next meeting is on Wednesday, March 12 at 7.15pm in the Sea Scout Hall, Well Lane, Weaverham. Sue Leicester will be talking about her experience as an English woman in the White House.
