KAREN Corcoran was the speaker with her talk A Lady Policeman. From a young age she had a passion for horses. Her early working career was as a cadet with the Manchester and Salford Police Force. She progressed to become the first female member of the Mounted Police in Manchester. Karen showed slides of the numerous horses she had ridden and the venues she had attended to carry out her duties of crowd control. She was privileged to ride at a pageant at Windsor in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee.
The next meeting will be held at Lach Dennis Village Hall on March 10 at 7.30 pm when Rebecca Little will talk about her stage experiences.
