MIDDLEWICH Library is encouraging children to get creative for this year’s World Book Day.
Children aged 14 or under are being urged to write or draw an exciting review or interpretation of their favourite book, author, character or scene.
The library is just one of thousands across the UK marking the occasion by showing how magical sharing stories can be.
Emma Booth, a librarian at Middlewich Library, said: “We can’t wait to get budding readers buzzing about World Book Day.
“Children who use libraries are twice as likely to be above average readers. Our competition is a fun way to spark the local children’s imaginations, by encouraging them to get creative and share their favourite thoughts on books.”
To mark the day, all children will receive a £1 Book Token which can be exchanged for one of the specially published World Book Day £1 books.
In addition, the token is redeemable against any book or audio book for a minimum of £2.99 at a participating bookshop or book club.
The closing date for entries is March 20 and forms can be picked up from the library on Lewin Street.
