A NINETEEN-year-old woman remains in hospital after her car was in collision with a bus in Moulton.

Police were called to Jack Lane at 12.51pm on Friday, October 26, after reports that a blue Renault Clio had been in collision with a bus.

The 19-year-old woman, believed to be from the Middlewich area, was airlifted to Leighton Hospital after she had to be cut out of the Clio after becoming medically trapped.

Although she remains in hospital, it is not believed her injuries are as serious as originally thought.

One fire engine from Northwich, two from Winsford and one from Middlewich attended the scene.

All of the passengers on the bus are understood to be uninjured.

Main Road was closed at its junction with Jack Lane, while both Jack Lane and Kiln Lane were closed at their junctions with the A533 while emergency services worked at the scene.

Friday’s incident was just one in a long line of serious collisions which took place on Cheshire’s roads last week, with three separate M6 closures leading to heavy congestion in the Northwich and Knutsford areas.

Anyone with information about the collision between the Clio and bus can contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 392 of October 25, 2013.
