THE women’s first team at Warrington Hockey Club had a Jo Nordovics penalty flick to thank as they beat Bowdon’s fourths.
Nordovics won the game in the second half after Sally Fraser’s early opener had been cancelled out against the run of play.
Sadly, they were the only one of the club’s senior teams to record a victory over the weekend.
Despite some superb saves by goalkeeper Roger Parr, the men’s firsts slipped to a 4-2 defeat at Urmston’s seconds, with Ben Vickers scoring both of Warrington’s goals.
The men’s and women’s second teams both suffered heavy defeats, with the men going down 6-0 to Chester University and the women being thrashed 11-0 by Whitchurch.
WARRINGTON Hockey Club are now offering Saturday morning junior training sessions for boys and girls aged between six and 13.
