Match of the Day

Witton Albion v Gainsborough Trinity (ko 3pm)

Witton are struggling to find consistency, and followed an impressive FA Cup victory last weekend with a disappointing display in a 3-1 defeat at Stafford on Tuesday.

Assistant manager Gary Martindale has backed Albion's players to be better when in-form Gainsborough arrive at Wincham Park, and they'll have to be.

Trinity put eight goals past Chasetown during an FA Cup replay triumph and are unbeaten in all competitions since the season's opening round.

That has persuaded bookmakers to rate them as second-favourites, behind South Shields, to win the Northern Premier League's Premier Division title.

It's an important afternoon for...

Middlewich Town (v Knutsford, ko 3pm)

The Witches will be desperate to recover from the embarrassment of losing 6-0 at home to Greenalls last weekend - their heaviest defeat in the Cheshire League in almost five years.

And a derby encounter with improving Knutsford provides an opportunity to do exactly that.

Town edged out their neighbours by the odd goal in five when they met at Manchester Road last month, and so are seeking a double.

And what about...

Cuddington (v Wythenshawe Town Development, ko 3pm)

Cuddington have been flawless at Norley Road to date this season in Cheshire League Two, recording four successive wins and scoring 26 goals along the way.

That leaves Gareth Harwood's side second in the table ahead of a visit from Wythenshawe Town's Development side, who have yet to collect maximum points from three previous attempts.

The hosts will be confident they can build on an encouraging start to the campaign.
