BUS services in and around Northwich and Winsford are to undergo some big changes.

D&G has announced new timetables for several services, with some being extended, others being retimed and one being withdrawn entirely.

The services in question are the 31, 37, 38 and X31.

These changes will come into effect from June 3.

A spokesperson for D&G said: “We’re pleased to be working in partnership with the local authorities in the areas we operate to provide a regular, reliable and robust network of local bus services that our customers expect and deserve.

“We look forward to welcoming both existing and new customers on board our local bus services.”

The X31 Nightlife Express, which runs between Northwich and Winsford, will be cut entirely.

Currently this service operates between 6.50pm and 12.20am on Fridays and Saturdays only.

To counterbalance the removal of this service, D&G are extending the 37 service, which travels between Crewe and Northwich.

From Monday to Saturday, the 37 will now run later into the evenings between Winsford and Northwich.

This has been funded by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Elsewhere, the 38 which serves the likes of Crewe, Sandbach, Congleton and Macclesfield, has been retimed to improve reliability.

Finally, the 31 is having one evening journey withdrawn due to low passenger numbers - this being the 8.36pm service from Winsford to Crewe.
