A FORMER care home is to be sold.

Bank Hall Farm on Swanlow Lane in Winsford will go under the hammer later this month.

Now, the healthcare provider Priory Group has confirmed what brought about this decision.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed that Bank Hall Farm, which provided people with learning disabilities and autism with round-the-clock care, was closed down in May 2023.

This came amid 'difficulties recruiting care staff' which left the service 'no longer viable'.

Residents of the home, of which there were six during the last Care Quality Commission inspection in 2022, were safely moved to new placements.

Just shy of a year after the closure, the Priory Group has decided to sell the site as there 'is no cost-effective solution' of repurposing it.

Bank Hall Farm will be sold at an auction held by Savills on April 16, with a guide price of £690,000.
