THE Middlewich Good Neighbours held a harvest festival themed afternoon tea and general meeting.

The event included free bingo and raffle and an afternoon tea of sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes baked by Trustees and members and the obligatory scones, jam and cream, plus tea and coffee.

It was attended by the trust’s new Patron, Fiona Bruce MP, the mayor and mayoress, Cllrs Bill and Bernice Walmsley, trustees, members and volunteers.

Middlewich Good Neighbours is a local community group which aims to match up people who need help with people who can offer help.

This makes life easier for many people in our community and also helps to combat loneliness.

dealt with business such as the election of trustees (the existing trustees were re-elected at the same time), the trust’s financial situation including details of grants applied for and future plans.

The new patron of the trust was welcomed and she gave a short speech commending the work of the trust and the value of laughter in all our lives such as she had experienced during the afternoon.
