THE Salt Cellar pub had visitors stop by in the middle of a big challenge for charity.

Volunteers walked through Middlewich this week as part of sponsored challenge to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s UK.

Emma Tomkinson, assistant manager at the Salt Cellar in Middlewich, said: “I had a group of 20 people who are doing a sponsored walk to raise money for Parkinson’s.

“They are doing a total of 79 miles over four days and on Monday they walked from Chester to Middlewich and on Tuesday they are walking to Congleton and finishing in Manchester on Friday, August 3.

“They arrived on Monday at the Harvester Salt Cellar at 7:30pm after walking 23 miles from Chester to us.

“They are continuing their walk today to Congleton and reaching Haywood by Friday.

“Paul Mullen and his friends are a fantastic bunch of people who deserve some recognition for this amazing event to raise money.

“They came and visited us this morning for a full English breakfast before the second leg of the walk.
