PLANS for a tennis court in Byley have been rejected by Cheshire East Council.

The plans for the homeowners in Byley Lane have been refused due to encroachment of the countryside.

The proposal was regarding the creation of a new tennis court and small pavilion at the back of an existing dwelling and ancillary works including a new gravel footpath and landscaping.

The officer’s report states: “The Local Planning Authority considers by reason of its siting outside of the residential curtilage of Hunters Gate that the development would result in the extension of the curtilage associated with Hunters Gate and the incremental encroachment of the residential area into the Open Countryside.
