A MIDDLEWICH mum who has a terminal brain tumour has recorded a video message thanking the people who have supported her.

Katarzyna ‘Kasia’ Zawadzka, 35, who lives in Walker Drive, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme in 2017, after two years of speech, headache and balance symptoms became progressively worse.

Her friend Izabela Bak set up a Gofundme page on behalf of Kasia to help raise £50,000 needed to go towards seeking private treatment in central Europe to prolong her life as much as possible.

More than £5,000 has so far been raised by family, friends, and generous members of the public.

Kasia’s latest MRI scan revealed that the tumour has stopped developing and the mum-of-two says she treats it as a good sign.

Kasia found the energy to record a video message dedicated to the people who have been supporting her fight.

“I would like to thank you for your support in the last few months,” she said. “I would like to thank you for warm wishes and your prayers.

“The last MRI scans showed that the cancer has stopped developing. I wish there was no tumour in my head at all, but I treat it as a good sign. I have been better lately and I can say a few words today.

“I am getting chemotherapy right now. At the same time, I am trying to add on top of my treatment an appropriate diet and other available supplements. This all is possible thanks to your help.”

Kasia also spoke of her two daughters, Monika and Zosia, and said that the money donated will help her be a part of their lives for longer.

She added: “I believe I can beat my cancer. My daughters, Monika and Zosia, give me power to fight. Monika is six now. She is in Year 1 at school.

“Monika likes to play with her younger sister Zosia. Zosia is almost 10 months. Her teeth are growing now, so sometimes she wakes us up in the middle of the night crying.

“I am very glad that I can still look at my girls, see how they grow, how Zosia takes her first steps. Your help gives me hope that I will be part of their lives as long as possible.

“Once again, thank you for your support. Please continue crowdfunding for me via zrzutka or gofundme as every little helps.”
