A WOMAN pushed into a van and robbed during the Christmas lights switch on in Middlewich on Friday.
At 6.30pm on Friday, 24 November, the woman was parked outside Tesco Express in Wheelock Street when she was approached from behind by a man.
The offender pushed her forward into her van and stole her bag before running away on foot down the side of Balti Spice Indian takeaway.
The man has been described as being white, aged between 25 and 30 and wearing a light grey long sleeved top or jacket with his hood up along with a woolly hat.
DC John Horsham, of Crewe CID, said: “This was the evening of the Middlewich Christmas light switch-on, the area was busy and people may have seen a man matching this description.
“If you have any information, no matter how big or small, I would encourage you to call us on 101.”
Anyone who may have seen the incident take place or have any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 799 of 24 November.
