A TRAINING facility in Middlewich which trains people in height safety and working with ropes is looking to expand to meet an increased demand.

The SpanSet facility, which is based on Telford Way, is planning to refurbish its current training facilities as well as create a new reception and classroom, and 44 new parking spaces outside the building to bring the parking spaces to around 100.

Pete Ward, Sales Director at SpanSet, said: “This is an exciting time for SpanSet and also the local businesses that support us.

“SpanSet has enviably the best facilities for work at height and rescue training in Europe.

“As a result the demand over recent years has increased significantly with over 16,000 people trained in 2014.

“SpanSet are now expanding to meet the increased volumes, with new classrooms and welfare facilities.”

The company’s core activities cover the product areas of lifting systems, load securing systems and personal safety equipment to protect against falling and various services such as our application-based training sessions.

The planning application for the refurbishments will go before a planning committee on Wednesday, March 25.
