I WISH someone would start a pet ambulance service.

A lot of elderly people have a pet, and that pet is their friend and close companion, the only living creature they speak to all day.

If you have no transport and need a vet urgently, a taxi can be expensive and not always available. I doubt if the council could find the money, with all their grand rebuilding schemes on their agenda, so as usual finance might be a problem.

A set fee might be the answer, for example, £5 per call out. I suppose it could be said, do not have a pet if you cannot supply all its needs, but it is a well proven fact that the companionship of a devoted pet keeps some of us alive.
