I WOULD like to add my warning to that of other readers about the problems of using the new Mersey Crossing.
Notwithstanding that I purchased two crossings from the Payzone outlet in Weaverham before my crossings, and obtained an official Merseyflow receipt, I have now received two penalty notices each demanding £20 penalty for failure to pay the tolls.
I have spent at least 20 minutes completing their appeal forms and copying my official receipt and I will incur the costs of posting these documents to Merseyflow, and have also suffered significant anxiety and worry.
I will in future use the M6 / M62 motorway route - any additional fuel costs being offset by the savings in the tolls and thus avoid the hassle, time, costs and worry of appealing against unwarranted demands for money.
