I DO wish Dr Peter Hirst would stop suggesting that I, and everyone else like me, didn’t understand what we voted for in the EU referendum when we voted out.
To say that he “will accept our verdict once he is convinced that we understand” is nothing more than an insult and is very offensive.
It seems that only he knows the future and the rest of us are in the dark about the “increasingly uncertain, volatile and dangerous world”.
His direct inference in his letter is that his intellect is far superior to that of the rest of us, especially those who disagree with him.
As for “increasing the franchise to include 16 and 17 year olds”, why not 15, or 14? Or anyone in senior school? It’s all equally ridiculous.
This is a classic example of ‘we can’t shoot straight, so let’s move the goal posts’.
Dr Hirst, I ask you politely, please stop insulting me and move on.
