REGARDING the proposed parking restrictions around Hartford Train Station. I totally agree with the comments made by Jenny Rayner as reported in your article.
On Thursday, March 9 I counted 14 empty spaces in the car park and 74 vehicles that would be displaced by the proposed parking restrictions.
I’m unsure where 60 vehicles can be “dispersed and thinned out “ as suggested by Cllr Phil Herbert.
Whilst some train users may not want to pay for car parking, it is clearly the case that the existing car park is not large enough to meet the current demand. We should encourage people to travel by train and insist that the car park is enlarged to meet demand. Then the proposed parking restrictions would have some merit .
