REGARDING your story about Northwich BID saying the town has a bright future.
I think there needs to be a clearly communicated plan which demonstrates the future plans for the town centre.
Everything so far has been cryptic and difficult to find. The town is sorely lacking good bars and restaurants and although there have been some positive moves, they seem to have been bungled with poor access, poor take-up and lots of congestion.
Most people accept that there will be disruption whilst infrastructure is put in place but there seems to be no light at the end of the one way system - Winnington bridge etc.
How about an open policy on the shop rates? Encourage independent businesses to open up in Northwich.
Give it some character and culture beyond the events which have been really good. What is happening to the ugly grey concrete police building and when? What about the other eyesores? When?
A clear project plan demonstrating what is going to happen and when, even with a caveat of subject to change, would help us all understand what is happening to our town.
We all want it to be great with a good shopping and leisure culture.
We all want rid of the factories (as much as possible) and we’d like to be able to contribute.
